Lil Wayne Files 375K Lawsuit

According to AllHipHop, Lil Wayne and Young Money Touring Inc. are suing a former booking agency for $375,000. Weezy has been working with the booking agency, Ujaama Talent Agency Inc., since 2008 and has been on four different tours booked by Ujaama. They owe Tunechi $375,000 in proceeds from his Americas Most Wanted Music Festival, both the Summer and Winter tours. It’s nice to see Wayne getting some money back rather than seeing another lawsuit filed against him. You can read the entire article after the jump and leave your thoughts in the comments box.

Rapper Lil Wayne and his company Young Money Touring Inc. has filed a lawsuit against a former booking agent who allegedly stole $375,000 in touring proceeds.

Lawyers for Lil Wayne filed a lawsuit against Ujaama Talent Agency Inc. and the company’s owners, Erskine Isaac, David Nelson on August 16th in the Supreme Court of the State of New York.

According to the lawsuit, Lil Wayne has worked with the company since the early stages of his career, by organizing and scheduling tours for the chart-topping rap star on a non-exclusive basis.

Between 2008 and January of 2010, Lil Wayne participated in four different tours with Ujaama.

A dispute broke out between the two companies over the proceeds of the two “America’s Most Wanted Music Festival” tours in Summer and Winter of 2009.

Around October of 2009, when Lil Wayne pleaded guilty to possessing a gun on his tour bus, he again engaged the services of Ujaama to book a national tour before he went to jail on Rikers Island.

The lawsuit claims that Isaac and Nelson “elected to divert to Ujaama’s own bank account an amount not less than $375,000, the sum that Isaac and Nelson maintain is owed to Ujaama for the tours in question.

Lil Wayne’s lawyer Ronald Sweeney had various conversations with the pair and asked for the money back, but Isaac and Nelson refused to return the money.

Just this week, Forbes named Lil Wayne the 4th best-earner in Hip-Hop, after he earned $20 million dollars over the past 12 months.

You can watch the official trailer for DJ Scoob Doo’s “Entourage” DVD above which features Lil Wayne, Birdman, Nicki Minaj, Drake, Gucci Mane, Jadakiss and plenty more rappers. I have no idea when this DVD is dropping along with the “Nino Brown Story Part 3“, but we should be getting them this month or next. In the trailer, you can see Weezy showing off how many ringtones he has sold and a little bit of footage from the “WTF” video shoot with Shawty Lo.

Hit the jump to watch Bow Wow sit down with Houston’s 97.9 The Box Madd Hatta Morning Show while promoting his new movie, Lottery Ticket. They talk about Cash Money and the advice he received from Tunechi when he visited him at Rikers Island.

“It was a humbling experience and one thing he told me when I went to visit him was ‘Bow, This ain’t for us, this ain’t it… This ain’t built for cats like us. They don’t understand us we don’t understand them… don’t do it man, just stay out of trouble, you and Drizzy y’all stay clean, y’all stay doing what y’all do, y’all can do this forever. All of this, it ain’t worth it. I knew he meant it, cause Tune never lectures me like that but he was serious.’ His spirits are high. When he gets out we definitely planning on this Young Money Cash Money Tour, myself, Nicki, Drizzy, Wayne and the whole entire family.”

Cortez Bryant Speaks On Lil Waynes Tha Carter IV Album

Lil Wayne’s, Drake’s and Lil Twist’s manager, Cortez Bryant, speaks on Weezy’s Tha Carter IV album in VIBE Magazine’s latest issue which hits newsstands later this week. You can read the excerpt below courtesy of UHTN, and if you missed what Birdman said about the album earlier today, then you can read that here!

Before Lil Wayne went to jail he told me, “When I’m gone, I don’t want my fans to feel like they miss me.” So he gave me Tha Carter IV before he went in- 20-something songs. Gee and I listened to them, but as time went on- I talk to Wayne everyday- it inspired me that he’d been writing inside. So I decided I wanna brand Carter IV as that Wayne the world’s been waiting to hear. It’s now gonna be all fresh-out-of jail material. Tha Carter Brand is so large I wanna make sure we don’t go backwards.

So basically, I think what Wayne’s team are gonna do is put 10 of the songs from what Wayne gave Tez on the I’m Not A Human Being EP (dropping September 27th), and then when Wayne gets out of prison he will re-do all of Tha Carter IV album. We have already heard one song from the EP and we know for a fact that Lil Twist and T-Streets will be featured on there. There are also some rumors going around that a new version of “Told Y’all” and a new version of “I’m Not A Human” will be on the EP along with the “30 Minutes to New Orleans” track (but using a different beat). Hit the jump to see a list of the producers for the EP.
